South Africa Sports Tour 2025 - First fundraiser planned
04 Nov
In our first international sports tour since 2019, Bournside netball, football and rugby teams will be travelling to Cape Town to compete against South African schools in the Connect Festival of Unity in July 2025.
73 students are set to travel the 6000 miles to the adventure capital of South Africa to experience sport and outdoor activities amidst stunning landscapes. In the jam-packed itinerary, students will have the chance to soak up the breath-taking views of Cape Town from Table Mountain, immerse themselves in local culture, test their nerve on a zipline through the Cape canopy, and potentially spot the big 5 on two safari game drives whilst staying on a game reserve.
"The 2024 Bournside Sports Tour promises to be an unforgettable experience, blending the thrill of sports with the exploration of the rich cultural and natural wonders that South Africa has to offer. As well as playing the sports the students know and love the schedule includes training for the matches and a surfing lesson along side a trip to Robben Island and visiting a penguin beach. Now we are just 9 months away, excitement is starting to build and training and fundraising in preparation begins." - Mrs Shermon-Tame and Miss Goddard, Teachers of Physical Education
