'Frighteningly good' Addams Family production

07 Mar

Wow, wow, wow! This year's School Production cast and crew pulled out all of the stops to deliver a 'frighteningly good' performance to three sold-out audiences - the best yet!

This year's production was The Addams Family, a comical feast that embraces the wackiness in every family. The story follows every father’s nightmare: Wednesday Addams, the ultimate princess of darkness, has grown up and fallen in love with a sweet, smart young man from a respectable family – a man her parents have never met. If that wasn’t upsetting enough, Wednesday confides in her father and begs him not to tell her mother. Now, Gomez Addams must do something he’s never done before – keep a secret from his beloved wife, Morticia. Everything will change for the whole family on the fateful night they host a dinner for Wednesday’s “normal” boyfriend and his parents.

Over 300 special guests from Christ Church Primary School, Greatfield Park Primary SchoolLakeside Primary School, St Marks C of E Junior School, and Warden Hill Primary School joined us to enjoy a matinée performance ahead of opening night, providing the student cast, musicians and backstage team with their first full live audience. The Year 5 pupils left buzzing with excitement after spotting familiar faces from their schools with lots of chatter about their future ambitions for the stage.

The Sixth Form Enterprise Team also provided snacks and refreshments during the interval alongside selling the first batch of their new eco-product, DIY BeeKind Wraps.

THANK YOU to everyone involved in The Addams Family. The professionalism of the cast and crew and the continued dedication of the teachers and staff involved do not go unnoticed. You are all fantastic!
