Activities Week 2025

"I am excited to launch Activities Week 2025 on behalf of everyone involved at Bournside. Now in it’s third year, we have revised the Activities Week programme offer, taking into account valuable student and parent/carer feedback.
Key changes to this year’s Activities Week include:
- Activities Week is for ALL students in Key Stage 3 (Years 7, 8 and 9).
- We have simplified the week into a week-long ‘Package A’ or ‘Package B’ system.
- Students are split by year groups, rather than by House, bringing friendship groups together.
- On Monday 14th July, all students will be off timetable but in school.
- From Tuesday 15th to Thursday 17th July students will go on three days of external trips, relevant to the Package they have selected.
- A £15 deposit is required for Package A. A £40 deposit is required for Package B. The deposit deadline is Monday 6th January 2025. Payments should be made via MCAS (please see the ‘Trips’ tab).
- Students in Year 10 and Year 12 will carry out valuable work experience placements. Please follow the guidance sent from Mrs Martin. The expectation is that all Year 10 or Year 12 will be on work experience during Activities Week.
As well as the Activities Week Packages in this guide, students have the opportunity to join extended residential trips during the week. These range from the Year 9 Camp in the Mendips and adventurous activities in the Dordogne, France and the Brecon Beacons, to exploring France, Belgium, and Germany. Plus, the welcome return of our Sports Tour, this time to South Africa!
