Well done to all of our students from years 7 and 8 who took part in the UKMT Junior Mathematical Challenge – the country’s most popular maths competition. Nearly 130 students completed the challenge, using their knowledge and skills learned in lessons to help them solve tricky mathematical problems.
38 of our students achieved scores in the top 40% of the country, and one student – Josh in year 8 – got through to the next round where only 1,200 students in the country take part.
The students celebrated with ice cream in the June sunshine with teachers of mathematics Mrs Bowers, Mr Robinson and headteacher Mr Burton who congratulated them on their efforts. “These students should feel very proud indeed – they’ve all done so well,” said Mr Burton.
