Four small groups of A-Level Business students from Cheltenham Bournside School are in the money after securing grants worth £3,400 from Tycoon in Schools.
Peter Jones (CBE) of Dragons Den started the foundation, Tycoon in Schools, a few years ago to encourage entrepreneurship in schools.
The students were entered into Tycoon in Schools by their business teacher Miss Smith in order for the students to set up their own business. The money has helped the students to purchase stock for their businesses and unless they make profit they don’t even have to pay it back!
Last week, the students were delighted when Bill Muirhead, Head of Programmes at the Peter Jones foundation, popped in to see how they were getting on. Mr Muirhead was pleased to see how much the students had achieved in such a short time and wished them luck for the rest of the competition which finishes in January and the winning team will go to Buckingham Palace to meet Peter Jones (CBE) in person.
