Rugby County Cup Final

Sam (scrum half,) Isaac (fly half,) Charlie (inside centre,) Jake (full back,) Mateusz (prop – tight head), Ethan (unfortunately injured but will be spectating!), Tom and Hugo (not pictured) met with Mr Burton this week to be commended for their vast amount of work and contribution to Bournside’s sport scene, especially rugby, over the last five years. They have been playing for the Old Patesians RFC for the past four years having worked their way up through the different teams within, training every Wednesday, whilst also representing the school team.

They will be up against Clifton this Sunday, 30th April for the county cup final match being held at Hartpury College – a team that they have played twice before and won both games. The Old Patesians came very close last year, unfortunately losing at the final to Longlevens, but despite anticipating it to be a tough match they’re in high spirits that they’ll be successful this time around – after which it will be their last game playing together when they’ll eventually go in different directions to either continue on with us, move to Hartpury or continue with the Old Patesians’ Colts team.

The year 11 students are not the only ones to be represented this weekend, with a large number of students from other year groups also playing in their County Cup Finals too.  We wish them all good luck!
