Partnership with Parents

We believe in a close partnership with our parents.

Being a member of Bournside is a three-way partnership between students, parents and staff.  We recognise the importance of a happy relationship between home and school based on mutual trust.  Our youngsters have to know that we can work together in their best interests.

Good communication between home and school is at the heart of a successful relationship and we aim to achieve this through many ways.

As a parent at the school you will have access to our electronic school learning platform FROG.

Your unique login details will allow you to have continuous access to your son/daughter’s academic progress, achievement, and attendance.  The vast majority of our communication to our parents is through FROG, it is where you will find out all of the latest school news, letters and forms, messages and updates from the Heads of Year and the Headteacher, along with subject information to help you support your son/daughter at home.

The Parents’ Bulletin is emailed to parents and carers every week.

We also contact our parents to raise concerns, celebrate achievement, set targets for improvement, and to recognise progress. We encourage all of our parents to contact the school to share information, express concerns or seek advice. Special information evenings are held at key times of change or choice, and the Parents/Teacher consultation evening enables you to meet subject teachers to discuss your son/daughter’s progress. Student planners provide an important channel of communication between home and school.
