Over half term, 24 students from our Sixth Form visited these two iconic US cities. They enjoyed tours of Radio City Music Hall, the UN, Madison Square Gardens, Ellis Island and MOMA in New York as well as touring all the major sites, attending an ice hockey game at Madison Square Gardens and seeing a Broadway show. In Washington, they visited Arlington National Cemetery and the US Capitol as well as many of the monuments and museums around the city – including the National Air & Space museum, the American History museum, the Lincoln/Korean/Vietnam and Martin Luther King memorials.
A great action-packed week was had by all – they walked miles, shopped on Fifth Avenue and thoroughly enjoyed their time – all promising to go back soon! They were a fantastic group to be with and their staff thank them for their willingness to keep walking (“its not far!”) and for keeping us amused all week – Miss Hanley, Mr Banks and Mrs Hemsley.
