Aims & Values

I offer you a very warm welcome to our school.

My educational philosophy centres around two main principles. First, that every student is unique and has particular strengths, talents and areas in which they are able to develop and grow. Secondly, that all students should feel successful in their learning and have an entitlement to learn in a safe, stimulating, inclusive environment, supported by highly committed and motivated staff, in order to achieve their potential and prepare effectively for adult life.

At Bournside we aim for every student to develop the knowledge, skills and self-confidence to become the best they can be. We strive to secure the highest standards of achievement for all our students and pride ourselves on knowing and understanding every individual. We describe ourselves as being: open, energetic, outgoing, friendly, safe, supportive, healthy, professional and self-aware. These are not simply nine words, they are our core values and underpin everything we do.

I am a firm believer in making our school open to prospective parents/carers and invite you to come and spend some time with me and see our school on a normal school day.
