Bournside School is a vibrant, exciting and memorable place of learning. Students flourish through being safe, happy and well supported. Our task is to help every student gain the knowledge, skills and confidence to be the best they can be.
We are rightly proud of high levels of academic achievement. Bournside’s broad and balanced curriculum offers a range of pathways, from vocational routes into employment and training, to joining Russell Group universities. Our highly skilled, enthusiastic and committed teachers aim to teach in ways which recognise the differences between our students. Lessons have a range of styles, and personalised learning always aims for students to make good or outstanding progress.
Our work related curriculum prepares students throughout Years 7 to 11 for the challenges and opportunities of adult life. Students are able to make well-informed choices in Year 9 about GCSE courses and beyond this our young people are thoroughly guided into sixth form study.
Engagement beyond classroom study is extensive, rich and varied. There is wide ranging opportunity to be involved in sport, music, drama, debating, charities, foreign exchange, Young Enterprise, business competitions, and a host of other activities.
Pupils’ behaviour in lessons is often exemplary, and rarely less than good.
